RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan (8-10; 5-4 MAAC) begins a two-game homestand against MAAC co-leader Monmouth (11-9; 7-2 MAAC) on Sunday, Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. Prior to the game, senior Emmy Andujar will be honored for becoming the 36th member of the school's 1,000-point club.

TOP STORYLINES 
#1 - Andujar scored a Jasper season-high 25 points while hitting for at least 20 for the third game in a row and fourth in the last five.


#2 - Manhattan leads the all-time series by a 5-2 count and is a perfect 3-0 when playing at Draddy Gymnasium. 

#3 - The Jaspers won both meetings between the teams last year by an average of 11.5 points each time out.


QUICK HITS
* Andujar became the first player in school-history with 1,000 points, 600 rebounds, 300 assists and 100 steals.

* Manhattan returns home to Draddy Gymnasium where the Jaspers are 4-1 this season and have won nine of their last 10 and 13-of-15.

* Head coach Steve Masiello is 29-12 when coaching in Draddy since being named head coach before the 2011-2012 season.

* Both head coaches have been a member of teams that advanced to the Final Four as Masiello played on Kentucky's 1997 Final Four Squad and the Wildcats' 1998 National Championship team while Monmouth head coach King Rice played for North Carolina in the 1991 Final Four. 

* The Jaspers are averaging 72.8 points per game in five contests at Draddy this year while shooting 47.1 percent from the floor and 72.0 percent from the line.

* At home this season, Andujar is notching a team-best 17.8 ppg while junior Ashton Pankey is averaging 13.6 ppg, a team-best 8.0 rpg and shooting 62.2 percent from the floor while junior Shane Richards is averaging 15.4 ppg and making good on 44.4 percent (16-for-36) from deep.

* Andujar's game-high 25 points at Quinnipiac marked his team-leading sixth 20-point performance of the season and the eighth of his career. Over his last five games, he has hit for at least 20 points on four occasions while averaging 21.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 2.8 apg and 2.2 spg.

* The Rice graduate leads Manhattan and ranks among the MAAC leaders in scoring (15.5 ppg-5th), rebounding (7.1 rpg-6th), assists (3.0 apg-7th), steals (1.8 spg-6th), offensive rebounds (2.8 orpg-3rd), defensive rebounds (4.4 drpg-10th) and assist/turnover ratio (0.8-7th) while also shooting 51.3 percent (6th MAAC) from the floor.

* Since last year, Andujar has increased his scoring by 6.9 ppg and his rebounding by 1.8 rpg.

* Pankey joined Andujar in double-figures at Quinnipiac with 18 points, a career-high three assists and two blocks and has hit for at least 18 points in four of his last five games while averaging 16.2 points and 6.4 rebounds each time out.

* The Maryland transfer ranks among the MAAC leaders in scoring (11.7 ppg-18th), rebounding (6.3 rpg-9th), field goal percentage (.518-5th), blocks (1.2 bpg-6th), offensive rebounds (2.4 orpg-6th) and defensive rebounds (3.9 drpg-12th). Additionally, he is pulling down a league-best 3.0 offensive rebounds each time out during MAAC play.

* Despite going scoreless for the second time this season at Quinnipiac, Richards continues to rank among the MAAC leaders in scoring (12.8 ppg-14th), three pointers/game (2.8-3rd), three-point field goal percentage (.368-13th), free throw percentage (.766-12th) and minutes (32.7 mpg-10th).

* His scoreless effort snapped his three-game streak of hitting for at least 20 points, scoring 21 against Rider, 21 at Saint Peter's and 22 against Niagara.

* Richards and Andujar, who also notched 21 points against Rider, each registered at least 20 points in the win at Saint Peter's marking the first time since the 2010-2011 season that the Jaspers had back-to-back games with two 20-point scorers.

* Joining Andujar and Richards with big games against Rider was Pankey, who scored 18 points. The trio combined for 60 points against the Broncs while shooting 55.3 percent (21-for-38) from the field, as the three student-athletes have now each hit for double-figures in the same game three times this season.

* Andujar (6), Richards (5) and Pankey (1) have also combined for the 12 Manhattan 20-point outings while accounting for 33 of the Jaspers' 42 double-figure scoring performances.

* During Manhattan's two-game losing streak, the duo of Andujar and Pankey has combined for 59.4 percent (82/138) of Jaspers' scoring while shooting 52.6 percent (30-for-57) from the floor with the rest of the team notching just 56 points on 29.5 percent (18-of-61) shooting.

* In the five games before Quinnipiac, Richards, who played a career-high 44 minutes against Rider, averaged 18.2 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 1.8 apg while shooting 47.5 percent (28-for-59) from the floor, including 43.2 percent (19-for-44) from deep, and 88.9 percent (16-for-18) from the line. 

* For his career, Richards has made good on a school-record 192 three pointers, including converting on at least three triples in 40 of his 83 games, and at least four in 20 games.

* Manhattan's overtime games against Rider and Saint Peter's marked the first time since the 1986-1987 season that the Jaspers had back-to-back games go to overtime.

* On a national level, Manhattan continues to rank fifth in the Division I ranks with 17.1 forced turnovers per game and has pressured the opposition into at least 16 miscues in 13 of its 18 games while also placing 64th with a +1.9 turnover margin.

* The Jaspers are 6-3 in their last nine games thanks to converting on 77.3 percent (58-for-75) from the line. 

* Manhattan has also made good on 50.0 percent or better from the field after halftime in four of the aforementioned nine games after failing to do so in any of its first nine games.

* Also during that time, the Jaspers are limiting opposing three-point shooters to just 29.4 percent (37-for-126) from deep and currently rank first in the MAAC and 53rd nationally in three-point defense (.306).

* Senior RaShawn Stores handed out five assists for the second-straight game against Quinnipiac and is 11th in the MAAC with 2.8 apg (11th MAAC). Since entering the starting line-up 10 games ago, Stores is averaging 6.6 ppg, 3.4 apg and 1.3 spg while posting a sterling 2.6 assist/turnover ratio.

* During MAAC play, Stores is shooting a league-high 47.4 percent from long range with a league-leading 3.9 assist/turnover ratio while also ranking among the league-leaders in assists (3.9 apg-5th) and steals (1.4 spg-11th).

* Also during MAAC play, the Manhattan starters are outscoring its counterparts by 12.2 points each time out. However, the bench is being outscored by an average of 11.8 ppg.

* Sophomore Tyler Wilson had a solid game against Rider, finishing with five assists and has now handed out at least four on eight occasions. Wilson continues to rank among the MAAC leaders in assists (2.9 apg-8th) and steals (1.2 spg-13th).

* Senior Donovan Kates became the sixth different Jasper to miss a game this season against Morgan State. Kates (1), Stores (2), sophomore Jermaine Lawrence (4), classmate Carlton Allen (10), freshman Samson Usilo (18) and classmate Zane Waterman (5) have combined to miss 40 games this season. 

* Since returning to Riverdale, Masiello has led the Manhattan to the program's fourth MAAC Championship as well as a pair of 20-plus win campaigns. In his first tenure, he was a part of two MAAC Championships and three 20-plus win seasons. All told, Masiello has been a member of three of the Jaspers' four MAAC Championship teams and five of their 12 20-win seasons while accruing a 151-85 record.

* In his 19th season as either a player or a coach, Masiello has a career collegiate record of 429-195, including 308-174 on the sidelines, with one National Title, two National Championship appearances, two Final Four appearances, six Elite Eight berths, seven conference championships, 12 NCAA Tournament appearances and 15 20-win seasons.

KEY MANHATTAN MATCH-UPS

* Shot Management- Manhattan posted its second-worst shooting performance (.333) at Quinnipiac and will need to improve that number against Monmouth's MAAC-leading field goal percentage defense (.389).

* Contain Robinson - Sophomore guard Justin Robinson is Monmouth's version of Emmy Andujar, leading the Hawks in scoring (12.6 ppg), assists (3.8 apg) and steals (1.8(while shooting 46.7 percent from the field, 42.7 percent from deep and 78.3 percent from deep.

* The Glass - The Jaspers turned in arguably their top rebounding performance of the season against Quinnipiac, which leads the nation in the glass, and will be facing a Hawk squad that is eighth in rebounding margin (-3.3).

LAST YEAR VS. MONMOUTH ...Bold (Ctrl+B)
Andujar averaged 12.5 ppg and 5.0 rpg while shooting 81.8 percent (9-for-11) from the field. Wilson also averaged 8.0 ppg, highlighted by a career-high and team-leading 15 points in the teams' first meeting.

TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT
During league play, Manhattan is 4-1 in games decided by 10 points or less while Monmouth is 5-2.

TURN THE RECORD OVER, I'LL CATCH YA ON THE FLIP SIDE
The Jaspers forced a season-high matching 23 turnovers in its 84-75 win over Niagara and ranks fifth nationally with 17.1 forced turnovers per game.

HOME COOKING
Manhattan is 4-1 at home this year and has won 13-of-15 dating back to last season. Masiello is also 29-12 at Draddy since taking over as head coach. 

LEADING THE WAY
The Jaspers are a perfect 6-0 when leading at the half and 6-1 when holding an advantage with five minutes to play.
