Jaspers Post Team Best in Final Round of Rutgers Invitational

PISCATAWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. - The Manhattan men's golf team posted its lowest team score in the third and final round of the Rutgers Invitational on Saturday. The four Jaspers' scoring players totaled a 295 (+11) at the par-71 Rutgers Golf Course.

Junior Jon Keyes (Bayport, N.Y. / Bayport-Blue Point) paved the way for Manhattan with a 71 (E). Sophomores Ryan Lynch (Boynton Beach, Fla. / Park Vista) and Johnny Schob (Huntington, N.Y. / Salisbury School) carded their low scores of the tournament in Round 3, with a 73 (+2) and 74 (+3), respectively.

Sophomore Charles Seward (Tampa, Fla. / Freedom) turned in a final round 77 (+6).

Lynch concluded the invitational with a three-round total of 226 (+13), to lead the Jaspers.

"They were definitely a lot more comfortable and relaxed out there today," head coach Frank Darby said. "This is a very talented group and they looked much sharper as a whole in the final round."

Manhattan returns to action on Friday, Sept. 25, when the team competes in the two-day Tuxedo Autumn Invitational.
