RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The 2012 season came to an end for the Manhattan College men's and women's cross country teams on Saturday, as the Jaspers competed in the annual ECAC/IC4A Championships at Van Cortlandt Park.  The men's team captured 13^th place in the University Division of the 104^th IC4A Championships, while the Manhattan women finished 14^th in the ECAC University Division.

This marked the first time in history that the ECAC/IC4A Championships were held on the same day as the NCAA Championships, which took place in Louisville, Ky.  Nevertheless, with so many teams eligible to participate in the ECAC/IC4A Championships, the event was divided into Championship and University Divisions.  Manhattan was assigned to the University Division for both men and women.  The men's race was held over five miles, while the women ran a 5000-meter course.

Leading the way for the Jasper men was Stephen Chantry (Williamsburg, Va.), who captured 57^th place in a time of 27:45.6.  Jacob Adams (Yonkers, N.Y.) was 67^th in 28:02.9, while Kevin D'Emic (Rockaway Point, N.Y.), running his final collegiate cross country race, finished 68^th in 28:04.2.  Kevin O'Brien (Attleboro, Mass.) was the next Jasper across the line.  He placed 71^st in a time of 28:12.8, followed by Nathan Kotch (Tappan, N.Y.) in 79^th place (28:34.9).  Rounding out Manhattan's top seven were Josh Perez (Marlton, N.J.) (84^th, 28:51.4) and Chris Laucella (Huntington Station, N.Y.) (93^rd, 29:38.3).

As a team, Manhattan collected 342 points.  Fairfield edged Fordham 58-59 for the win, while Colgate's Christopher Johnson took the individual title in 25:28.8.  Led by individual winner Bobby Peavy (25:08.5), Georgetown won the team title in the Championship Division.

For the Manhattan women, Alyssa Windle (Redlands, Calif.) was the top finisher.  She placed 57^th overall in a time of 19:56.1.  Rachel Lottermann (Washington Township, N.J.) came in 69^th in 20:08.9, while Alexandra Cappello (Scarsdale, N.Y.) and Johanna Petruski (Toms River, N.J.) crossed the line in 76^th and 77^th, respectively.  Cappello notched a time of 20:15.7, and Petruski finished in 20:19.6.  Elizabeth Rosenberger (Ramsey, N.J.) had a 99^th-place showing.  She posted a time of 20:50.7.  The Jaspers' top seven was completed by Erica Brady (Quincy, Mass.) (115^th, 21:40.6) and Meghan Marro (Cherry Hill, N.J.) (118^th, 21:56.7).

Manhattan tallied 378 team points in the women's race.  Sacred Heart earned the ECAC team title with 73 points, while George Mason's Bethany Sachtelben (18:04.3) was the individual winner.  James Madison's Katie Gorman (17:50.5) and Katie Harman (17:57.2) went 1-2 in the Championship Division race, as the Dukes captured the team trophy.
