SIENA ENDS VOLLEYBALL'S POST-SEASON BID IN FIVE GAMES

Loudonville, N.Y. (November 12, 2005)--Manhattan Volleyball's bid for post-season play ended in the fifth game of a heartbreaking loss at MAAC foe Siena College on early Saturday evening in Loudonville, N.Y. Head coach Ray Green's squad finished the 2005 season at 17-16 overall and 5-4 in MAAC play, which is a nine and a half match improvement from last year.

Seniors Megan O'Dorisio and Maggie Pfeifer, the top two kill producers in the MAAC, led the Lady Jaspers attack by combining for 42 kills in what proved to be the final appearance of their Manhattan Volleyball careers. O'Dorisio and Pfeifer, as well as the two other members of the senior class, setter Lori Bambauer and libero Ashley Davis, did not fail to leave their mark on the program during their tenure in Riverdale.

O'Dorisio notched her 1,000th career kill in a victory over Marist College, and did not go out quietly on Saturday afternoon. The senior outside hitter notched 19kills and 17 digs for her 17th double-double in 33 matches this year.

Pfeifer, who earned First Team All-MAAC honors as a sophomore and junior, completes her Manhattan career with 1,556 kills.

Davis, who eclipsed the 1,100-dig mark last weekend on Senior Day at Draddy, led the Lady Jaspers with 18 digs on the afternoon. Davis totaled 466 digs in 2005, which is the second-best performance in Manhattan Single Season History.

Bambauer, who transferred to Manhattan from Clark State in Ohio after her freshman year, dished out 21 of her 2,911 career assists in the match.

Siena finished with four players having recorded double-digit kills with Nadiege Honore leading the way with 17 kills. Honore also added 17 digs for a double-double. Siena freshman setter April London finished with 55 assists and six kills.

A Manhattan victory would have guaranteed the Lady Jaspers a spot in the four-team MAAC Tournament next weekend, but their heartbreaking loss coupled with wins by Niagara and Saint Peter's ended the 2005 campaign.
