Megan O'Dorisio and
Maggie Pfeifer each recorded 11 kills to lead the way for Manhattan in its season opener, as the Lady Jaspers defeated St. Francis (NY) in three straight sets (30-19, 30-26, 31-29) at the Anthony J. Genovesi Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Setter Lori Bambauer had a career high 37 assists for the Lady Jaspers while O'Dorisio,
Ashley Watson and
Allison O'Neill all reached double digits in digs with 16, 13 and 10, respectively.
The Lady Jaspers will return to the court on Friday, September 3, when the team will host the Manhattan College Invitational at Draddy Gymnasium. Manhattan will play three matches in two days, beginning with a match against American on Friday at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, September 4, Manhattan will square off against Michigan at 9:00 a.m. and then will face Maryland-Eastern Shore at 2:00 p.m.
