Lawrenceville, NJ (May 9, 2004)- Manhattan dropped a 6-1 decision to Rider today at Richard F. Daly Field. The Jaspers fall to 17-23-1 overall and 10-9 in MAAC play.
Matt Cucurullo connected on a two-out homer in the top of the first to give Manhattan a 1-0 lead.
The lead was short lived, however, as Rider scored single runs in the second and third, two more in the fourth, and single runs in the sixth and eighth to emerge with the 6-1 win.
Chris Cody (3-1) took the loss for Manhattan, allowing four runs over 3.2 innings. Eric Weiner (2-6) went seven innings for the Broncs, allowing just the one run.
The Jaspers return to action on Wednesday, May 12, when they host St. Francis-NY at 3:30 p.m.
