Villanova, PA (September 20, 2003) In the last match of the Villanova Tournament, the Lady Jaspers dropped a close one to Pennsylvania in four matches with scores of 16-30, 30-22, 21-30, 26-30. With the loss, Manhattan falls to 3-8 on the season.
Despite the loss, senior tri-captain
Luka Van Cauteren was named to the Villanova All-Tournament Team. Van Cautaren managed to tally another triple-double, with 12 kills, 21 assists and 17 digs along with a .308 hitting percentage. Senior tri-captain
Jaime Pavel added 15 digs, along with tri-captain
Krista Thorsen who recorded 7 kills, 10 digs, 2 service aces with a .312 hitting percentage.
The Quakers were led by Elisabeth Kwak-Hefferan who tallied an impressive 21 kills, 8 digs with a .341 hitting percentage. Michelle Kauffman recorded 13 kills with a .344 hitting percentage in the win.
The Lady Jaspers head to Stony Brook on Thursday looking to notch their fourth win of the season.
