Storrs, CT - (September 12, 2003) - In the first round of the Connecticut Invitational, the Lady Jaspers fell to University of Illinois, 3-0 at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, CT. Manhattan lost in three straight games with scores of 30-13, 30-22, and 30-19.
Sophomore
Maggie Pfeifer led the way for the Lady Jaspers in the loss with 6 kills and a .308 hitting percentage. Junior transfer
Helena Ward added 5 kills, 4 digs with a .333 hitting percentage.
Lisa Argabright led the Fighting Illini in the win with 15 kills and an outstanding .938 hitting percentage. Jessica Belter chipped in with 9 kills, 7 assists and 3 digs with a .500 hitting percentage.
The Lady Jaspers will play two more games in the Connecticut Invitational. Tomorrow, Manhattan will face University of Connecticut at 12:00 pm and University of Akron at 5:00 pm.
