Biography

GENERAL: Co-captain... solid defensively... good making the routine play... coming off a solid junior campaign batting above .300... bats for average... expected to bring leadership to the roster.

 

2008: Started 35 of 37 appearances... was .305 from the plate with five doubles... drove in 23 RBI and scored 23 runs... finished with a .938 fielding percentage... registered 92 assists and 60 putouts... posted 11 multi-hit games... tallied individual season-high with four hits and three RBI versus Saint Peter’s (5/11)... blasted first home run of his career in win over Saint Peter’s (5/10)... completed the season on an eight game hit streak... selected MAAC Co-Player of the Week (5/19), going 8-for-15 (.533) from the plate... he drove in five RBI and tallied two doubles leading to a sweep of Fairfield.

 

2007: Appeared in 40 games, making 35 starts... finished third on the team with a .297 batting average... drove in 16 runs... did not commit an error in his final 16 games... tallied eight multi-hit games... went 2-for-4 with two runs in series finale at Florida International (3/14)... was 6-for-8 with four RBI and two runs scored in final two games of series with Iona (4/6, 4/7)... named to MAAC All-Tournament team after batting .615 (8-for-13) with five RBI... went 3-for-4 and drove in three RBI in MAAC Championship contest vs. Le Moyne (5/26).

 

2006: Appeared in 18 games, making six starts... started first collegiate game at #15 Tulane (3/4)... recorded first collegiate hit (a double) at UMBC (3/11)... went 2-for-5 with one RBI vs. Niagara (4/2)... went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI at Sacred Heart (4/18)... tallied 10 putouts and 10 assists.

 

BEFORE MANHATTAN: Named Ft. Lauderdale Sun Sentinel First Team All-County and Broward Herald First Team All-County his senior season at Coral Springs Charter... named Ft. Lauderdale Sun Sentinel First Team All-County and Miami Herald First Team All-County as a junior, after batting .434 with a .699 slugging%... a five-year varsity player... graduated as his high school’s all-time leader in hits, runs, RBI, and home runs... member of the National Honor Society.

 

PERSONAL: An engineering major... the son of Barbara and Richard Masters... has two siblings, Nicole and Jackie.
