RIVERDALE, NY — Day one of the Lions Invitational hosted by The College of New Jersey was highlighted by a first-place finish for Ivan Lytovchenko in the Men's High Jump and a first-place result for Adrian Alonso in Men's 3000m Steeplechase. Meanwhile, across state borders at the historic Penn Relays, Lewis Forster took third place amid a crowded field of competitors in the Men's Javelin competition. On the women's side, Alexandra Caraher finished as the runner-up in the Women's Hammer Throw at the Lions Invitational while the 4x100 and 4x400 relays at Penn set season best marks.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

Lytovchenko's gold medal in the Men's High Jump came on a season-best performance of 2.05m.

Alonso PR'ed in the Men's 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 9:39.01.

Also competing in the Steeplechase at the Lions Invitational was Joshua Mingoia, who logged a second-place finish with a time of 10:00.0.

Forster's third-place showing on day two of the Penn Relays came by virtue of a 60.43m performance in the Men's Javelin. He was edged by first-place Arthur Parham of Citadel and second-place Justin Kolpan of Franklin & Marshall.

Also at the Penn Relays was Manhattan's grouping of Alberic Gbaguidi, Thomas Dubnov Raz, Darion Lopez and Rasmus Jaeger which ran a 3:26.91 in the Men's Sprint Medley Championship of America.

In the Men's 5000m race at the Lions Invitational, Jack Flanagan PR'ed with a time of 15:53.49 en route to a fifth place finish.

One day after Alex Kristeller took the Men's Hammer Throw title at the Penn Relays, and Paul Brennan nabbed sixth place in the event, the Jaspers received a pair of strong performances in the Men's Hammer Throw at the Lions Invitational, highlighted by Peter Athanailos taking fifth place and Daniel McWilliams securing 9th.

Athanailos (46.67m) and McWilliams (44.88m) both registered personal records.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

Manhattan was represented in the upper echelon of the Women's Hammer event at the Lions Invitational, as Alexandra Caraher (52.44m) earned second place, and Thea Dahl (46.90m) and Naiyla Shepherd (45.65m) took sixth and ninth place, respectively.

At the Penn Relays, two Manhattan relays set season best marks. The 4x100m relay raced by SaRae Kennard, Isabella Sing, Ellianne Fernandez and Tranira Booker registered a time of 47.67. Meanwhile, in the 4x400 Eastern, the quartet of Martina Martinez, Fernandez, Booker and Mikaella Martin zoomed to a time of 3:59.00.
