EWING, N.J. — Manhattan men's and women's track & field turned in a solid day across the board on Day Two of the Lions Invitational hosted by The College of New Jersey. Darion Lopez and Martina Martinez were the big story lines, as Lopez captured first place in the Men's 100m event and Martinez posted her first win of the season in the Women's 400m Hurdles race.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

A day after taking part in the Men's Sprint Medley at The Penn Relays, Darion Lopez shined brightest in the Men's 100m event with a winning time of 10.60s in New Jersey.

Lopez was the runner-up in the Men's 200m race with a time of 21.35.

In the Men's Triple Jump, Jayce Ward took fifth place with a leap into the sandpit at 13.80m. Meanwhile, Alex Bilello took 11th place with a mark of 13.15m, a new personal record for the Congers, New York native.

Senior Peter Anthanailos led the charge in the Men's Shot Put (9th) and the Men's Discus (11th).

In the Men's 400m race, Brian Oduor set a personal record of 49.99, which earned him 10th place. Jaiden Bradshaw registered 11th place and was timestamped at 50.69, a new season best for the sophomore. Freshman Thomas Bonsignore placed 16th at a pace of 51.26.

Bonsignore was the lone Jasper to compete in the Men's 400m Hurdles, finishing in 10th with a time of 59.30.

In the Men's Long Jump, freshman Jayce Ward came in 19th with a score of 6.28m.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

Martina Martinez crossed the finish line at 1:01.39, a new personal record which was enough to secure her first victory of the season.

Isabella Sing impressed in the Women's Long Jump to the tune of a second-place finish at 5.62m.

Sing was ultra competitive in the Women's 100m Hurdles and the 100m race as well, finishing in third and fourth place, respectively. Sing set a new personal standard in the 100m too, clocking in at 12.52.

The Women's 200m saw freshman SaRae Kennard register seventh place with a new personal best of 26.20. Elaina Batista also notched a personal best, completing her trek at 29.37.

Bekah Bouton delivered a score of 11.25m in the Women's Shot Put, good for 15th place. Alexandra Caraher placed 22nd in the event.
