Manhattan Women's Swimming and Diving Finishes up MAAC Championship

GENEVA, O.H. - Manhattan women's swimming and diving team completes the four-day MAAC swimming and diving championships, finishing in ninth with 113 points.

After a slow first day of relay and diving events, the women placed seventh in the 200-yard freestyle relay on day two. The squad of four consisted of Kyla Guilfoil, Jaila Williamson, Elle Feneide, and Mackenzie Tuttle. Tuttle touched the wall for the Jaspers at 1:36.38, earning them 24 points, just under a second away from beating Iona University in sixth place.

On day three, Guilfoil placed 11th overall and third in the B-final group for the 100-yard backstroke. She qualified with a prelim time of 58.07, breaking her previous personal best.

Throughout the four days, Guilfoil would go on to beat three of her personal bests, all in the backstroke category. The senior swimmer beat her 50-yard backstroke (27.31), 100-yard backstroke (58.07), and 200-yard backstroke (2:05.80).

The women will move on to finish their 2023-24 season next month at the spring ECAC Championships held in Annapolis, MD. The first day of the competition is set for Friday, March 1.
