Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Competes in Three-Team Event at Monmouth

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ– The Manhattan Jaspers men's and women's swimming and diving teams took on the Monmouth Hawks. In contrast, on Wednesday, the women took on an additional opponent at Felician University, all inside the Richard E. Steadman Natatorium.

The men's final score was 208-46 against the Hawks, while the women fell to Monmouth 212-37 and 161-76 to the Golden Falcons of Felician.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Men 200 Yard Medley Relay saw the quartet of junior Abelardo Cartagena, senior Joe Brennan, sophomore Gavin Harding, and junior Jonathan Carsen logging a 1:39.60 finish, which was good for third.
  • Brennan logged a first-place finish in the Men 100 Yard Breaststroke, beating out Monmouth's Victor Pottier Ibanez by .25 seconds. Brennan recorded a finals time of 59.05.
  • Junior Elle Feneide recorded a finals time of 2:21.26 in the Women 200 Yard Butterfly event.
  • Junior Shayna Millard logged third place in the Women 200 Yard Breaststroke at 2:17.14.
  • Sophomore Gavin Harding etched a third-place finish in the Men 100 Yard Butterfly by logging a time of 53.64.

NEXT UP:

The Jaspers return to the pool when Manhattan Men and Women's Swimming heads south to Brooklyn to face the Wagner Seahawks and the LIU Sharks in a three-team meet. The contest will be viewable on NEC Front Row.
