RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Manhattan women's basketball team (9-4, 2-2) hosts Saint Peter's University this Saturday, January 13. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Draddy Gymnasium. It is also Women in Business Day.
The Preview: The last time the two teams played was March 7, 2023. The Jaspers won, 59-56.
The Opponent: Saint Peter's University (4-8, 1-2 MAAC) dropped its last game against Quinnipiac University, 50-39. They were led in scoring by Jada Leonard's 15 points, while Fatmata Janneh added seven points and 10 rebounds.
Leading the Way: Nitzan Amar leads Manhattan with a team-best 11.2 points per game.
Anne Bair is next at 9.6 points per game, while
Petra Juric averages 8.2 rebounds per game, including a pair of double-doubles.
Last Week: Juric led Manhattan to a 1-1 week. The forward recorded a double-double of 13 points, 14 rebounds (tied her career-high), 3 steals, 1 block, and 1 assist in the victory over Siena. Two days later at Quinnipiac, she tallied 22 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. She averaged 19.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.
Away Games: Manhattan is 4-3 on the road after a 71-59 loss against Quinnipiac University on Saturday.
What's Ahead: Manhattan will continue to play on the road as it visits Niagara University on Jan. 18. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
