RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Manhattan women's lacrosse team finishes road stay against Iona and then returns home for the remainder of the season to face Siena.
Manhattan (6-7, 2-2 MAAC) and Iona (7-6, 1-4 MAAC) will meet in New Rochelle, N.Y., at Mazzella Field on Wednesday Apr. 12, at 3 p.m. The last time the Jaspers and the Gales battled each other was Apr. 13 of last season, resulting in a Jaspers loss, 12-11.
The Gales are coming into this matchup on a two-game losing streak, most recently losing to Niagara 16-11.
Later in the week, Manhattan returns home to Gaelic Park to take on Siena (9-5, MAAC 4-1) on Saturday Apr. 15, at 4 p.m. Before going up against the Jaspers, the Saints will face off against Quinnipiac on Wednesday. This season's game against the Bobcats, resulted in a Jasper loss, losing 14-15.
In their most recent match, the Jaspers lost to Quinnipiac (6-6, MAAC 2-2) 15-14. The Jaspers trailed the Bobcats 7-6 at the half, but then got off seven straight goals to take a 13-7 lead in the last minutes of the third. With 5:09 left to play, the Bobcats tied the game after a Mia Delmond goal. Delmond then scored again only one minute later giving the Bobcats the lead to win the game.
Key players of the Jaspers offense include
Reagan Mullins with four goals and two assists.
Jillian Reiner also scored four goals and added one assist.
The Jaspers are second in the MAAC in draw control percentage with 71.4%. Reiner leads the team in goals with 28.
