Men Finish First Day of MAAC Championships

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Manhattan men's swimming and diving team finished the first day of the MAAC Championships in eighth with 46 points. 

The men competed in two events Wednesday. The first was the 200-yard medley relay, where the men placed seventh. The team consisted of Andrew Lebak, Joe Brennan, Jack Martin, and Jonathan Carsen. The team had a finishing time of 1:34.30, earning the Jaspers 24 points. 

The second event for the men was the 800-yard freestyle. The Jaspers placed eighth in this event with a team consisting of Branden Deiss, Abelardo Cartagena, Louis Quinn, and Martin. Martin touched the wall after 7:24.66, earning the Jaspers 22 points. 

Rider leads the men's field with 105 points after day one. The men continue to compete in the MAAC Championships tomorrow at 10 a.m. in Buffalo, N.Y.
