Men's Swimming & Diving 13th After Day One of ECAC Championships

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The men's swimming and diving team finished up the first of three days at the ECAC Championships, placing 13th with 20 points.

In the preliminaries, the men placed 13th in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a finishing time of 1:27.83, qualifying them for the B Final. Andrew Lebak, Joe Brennan, Jonathan Carsen, and Jack Martin made up the team. The men finished 14th in the 400-yard medley relay, with Martin touching the wall after 3:37.52, earning them a spot in the B Final. The team consisted of Martin plus Lebak, Brennan, and Branden Deiss.

In the finals, the men placed 13th in the 200-yard freestyle with a finishing time of 1:27.20, 0.63 seconds quicker than their prelim time. In the 400-yard medley relay, the men finished 11th after Deiss touched the wall at 3:31.06. This was a season-best for the men in the event.

The U.S. Naval Academy leads the championship with 255 points.

The 2023 ECAC Swimming and Diving Championships continue Saturday, Feb. 25, in Annapolis, Md.
