RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Manhattan men's cross country team earned a second-place finish at this year's 2022 Metropolitan Cross Country Championships at Van Cortlandt Park.
Fordham took first as a team, finishing with a team score of 21 points. The Green and White finished with a score of 60.
Leading the charge for coach
Kerri Gallagher was the usual suspect,
Michael Hennelly. Hennelly finished in third with a time of 26:54.0.
Justin Jordaens cracked the top-10 this afternoon, coming in 9th place with a final mark of 28:16.4.
Dean Mayo finished in 11th with a final time of 28:26.7. Following up Mayo was
Brendan Lucey, posting a time of 30:10.2, which slots him in at 22ed this afternoon.
Andrew Simard was not far behind Lucey, crossing the line about five seconds later with a time of 30:15.8.
Jaxon Newton and
Jack Flanagan finished back-to-back with times of 30:43.0 and 30:45.0 respectively. Brandon Chen crossed the finish line with a final time of 32:32.4.
The Jaspers take to Van Cortlandt Park again next Friday Oct. 14 when they compete in the IC4A Championships.
