Deal, NJ – Freshman Lincoln Haymaker (Nashville, TN / Davidson Academy) paced the Manhattan men's golf team with a round of 75 (+4) finishing in a tie for eighth at the Monmouth Hawk Invitational at Deal Country Club on Thursday, September 27.
Manhattan finished in fifth place for the team event with a team score of 312 (+28).
Sophomore Sam Taraian (Rehobeth, MA / Dighton-Rehobeth Regional) carded a 76 to finish in a tie for 13th. Senior Preston Shortell (Oxford, CT / Holy Cross) finished in a tie for 20th with a score of 79. Sophomore Jimmy Escoto (Laredo, TX / John B. Alexander) and junior Justin Ming (Pelham, NY / Pelham Memorial) rounded out the finishers for Manhattan with scores of 82 and 87, respectively.
Saint Peter's captured the team championship with a score of 287 (+3) and the Peacock's Stanley Garrant was named the medalist after carding a 69 (-2).
The Jaspers have reached the midpoint of their fall schedule, with the Bucknell Invitational (October 13-14), the Towson Fall Invitational (October 19-20) and Metropolitan Intercollegiate Championship (October 27-28) remaining on the docket this fall.
