Princeton, NJ - Alexandra Preckajlo (Ocean, NJ / St. Rose) earned a sixth-place finish in the women's discus throw on Sunday, May 12, competing in the 2019 ECAC/IC4A Championships at Princeton.
Preckajlo hit a distance of 41.54 meters, just .15 meters off a top-five performance. She claimed the Jaspers' highest finish of the weekend, headlining four top-10 finishes.
Highlights:
- Senior Eric Waugh (Wheatley Heights, NY / Half Hollow Hills West) took home eighth place in the men's discus throw, recording a distance of 45.11 meters.
- Classmate Ryan Addlesberger (Cinnaminson, NJ / Cinnaminson) placed ninth in the men's shot put with a distance of 15.74 meters. Anu Awonusi (Dublin, Ireland / Kilkenny College) also qualified for the IC4A shot put, finishing in 19th with a throw of 14.60 meters.
- Waugh, Addlesberger and Enrique Martinez (San Salvador, El Salvador / Barton CC), who placed eighth in the men's hammer throw on Saturday, await the close of this weekend's competition to see if they have qualified for the NCAA East Regionals starting May 23. The top 48 athletes are chosen out of the east region for individual events. Waugh currently sits in 46th in the discus, while Addlesberger is 41st in the shot. Martinez ranks 38th in the region in the hammer.
- Competing in two sprint events on Sunday, Niasia Boone (Morrisville, PA / Pennsbury) placed 11th in the women's 200-meters with a time of 24.98, finishing under 25.00 in the event for just the second time this outdoor season. She took on the women's 100-meters as well, finishing 12th in the preliminaries with a time of 12.29, 0.36 faster than her MAAC-winning time in the event earlier this month.
- Will Stallings (Sleepy Hollow, NY / Sleepy Hollow) finished 14th in the men's 400-meters with a time of 50.30.
- Lasma Padedze (Ogre, Latvia / Ogre Secondary School No. 1) finished in the top 20 (17th) in the women's shot put with a distance of 12.73 meters. She also finished 19th in the women's discus, recording a throw of 36.13 meters.
- In his first IC4A outdoor competition, freshman Larry McCullum (Piscataway, NJ / Piscataway) completed the men's 100-meter dash in 11.21, good for 32nd place in the preliminaries.
