Jaspers Honor Napoli On Senior Day

Riverdale, NY - Manhattan volleyball celebrated the program's lone senior Ginamarie Napoli (Elmsford, NY / Maria Regina) on Sunday, November 3 before the Jaspers final home match of the season.

Napoli is a four-year member of the squad, and has made an impact across campus in her time at Manhattan, including serving in the College's student government and being a standout student in the civil engineering program. Napoli has also spearheaded Manhattan volleyball's fundraising efforts for the Friends of Karen organization for years.

Post-ceremony, the Jaspers faced MAAC-leading Fairfield, dropping the match in three sets to the undefeated Stags. Manhattan falls to 6-21 overall and 3-11 in the league, while Fairfield improves to 18-4 and 13-0 in the MAAC.

Highlights:
  • Fairfield swept the match 25-20, 25-21, 25-21.
  • Julia Menocal (Bronx, NY / Preston) followed up her career-high attack performance on Saturday with 12 kills against the Stags to lead Manhattan.
  • Vivian Donovan (Newport Beach, CA / Newport Harbor) added 10 kills, as well as 10 digs to make it her second double-double performance of the weekend.
  • Erin Hoener (St. Louis, MO / Incarnate Word) tallied a match-high three blocks, bringing her season total to 95, just eight away from the program's single-season top 10.
  • With 71 block assists this year, Hoener is also 10 away from that single-season list. She is now tied for 10th on the program's solo blocks single-season list (24).
