Preston Shortell (Oxford, CT / Holy Cross) took home the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Championship individual title in dramatic fashion, parring the second playoff hole to defeat Fairleigh Dickinson's Melan Dhaubhadel at Montclair Golf Club.
Shortell carded a score of 69 (-1) in regulation play, then recorded a par on the 18th hole twice to outlast Dhaubhadel and win the individual championship. The win is the first of Shortell's Jasper career.
Manhattan finished in a tie for ninth as a team, with a score of 302 (+22). Sophomore
Sam Taraian (Rehobeth, MA / Dighton-Rehobeth Regional) finished in a tie for 26th place with a score of 75, while freshman
Lincoln Haymaker (Nashville, TN / Davidson Academy) placed in the top-50 with a 77.

Jimmy Escoto (Laredo, TX / John B. Alexander) closed the scoring for Manhattan with a score of 81, while
Justin Ming (Pelham, NY / Pelham) shot an 86.
Fairleigh Dickinson won the team title with a score of 287, edging out Loyola (MD).
Shortell's win is the second of the fall season for the Jaspers, as Taraian also earned medalist honors at the Towson Fall Invite to cap a successful fall campaign for the Jaspers.
