Addlesberger's winning performance places him at third in the conference for shot put distances this year, just behind teammate Anu Awonusi (Dublin, Ireland / Kilkenny College) who hit 17.78 meters on December 8.
Highlights:
- Saturday marked the second day of competition in Boston for the Jaspers. On Friday, the women's team earned five top-10 finishes, including a collegiate best in the 200-meters by Niasia Boone (Morrisville, PA / Pennsbury). Her time of 25.30 now ranks first in the MAAC.
- Teammate Jasmine Davis (Central Islip, NY / Hauppauge) ran a 57.43 in the women's 400-meters on Friday, which also ranks as the MAAC's best time so far this season.
- In the men's track events on Saturday, freshman Larry McCullum (Piscataway, NJ / Piscataway) ran an IC4A-qualifying time of 22:21 in the 200-meters, finishing in 25th overall. He also earned a sixth-place finish in the men's 60-meters, hitting a time of 7.02.
- The men's 4x400 team, made up of of Seth Goitia, Jordan Greene (Boston, MA / Newton North), Alexander (A.J.) Moore (Colonia, NJ / John F. Kennedy) and Will Stallings (Sleepy Hollow, NY / Sleepy Hollow), ran its fastest time of the season, qualifying for IC4As with a time of 3:17.4.
- Senior Eric Waugh (Wheatley Heights, NY / Half Hollow Hills West) placed fourth in the men's shot put, hitting 16.39 meters. He also placed sixth in the weight throw, going a distance of 16.62 meters.
- Enrique Martinez (San Salvador, El Salvador / Barton CC) earned second in the weight throw, recording a distance of 17.42 meters. Teammate Nicholas Kocienda (Seaford, NY / Seaford) earned a throw of 16.80 meters in the event, good for fourth place.
- Competing in the men's shot put invitational at the Dr. Sander Columbia Challenge on Saturday, sophomore Awonusi finished eighth with a distance of 16.13 meters. Professional field athlete Joe Kovacs won the event, hitting more than 20-meters. Awonusi was one of just three college students in the competition.
Manhattan will compete in the Metropolitan Indoor Track and Field Championships starting January 31. This year, Mets will be held at both Fordham University and the Ocean Breeze Complex on Staten Island.
