Philadelphia, PA - Manhattan outdoor track and field's women's distance medley relay squad set a school record in the event at the 2018 Penn Relays on Thursday, April 26.
The team, made up of
Erin Spadaccini,
Gabby Fanning,
Lisa Fajardo, and
Kelly Gorman, finished the race with a time of 11:48.01, beating out the previous record of 11:48.28 set at the Penn Relays in 2016. Both Spadaccini and Gorman were members of that relay team, as well. Manhattan finished fourth overall in the race behind winner Temple, Columbia, and La Salle.
Earlier this year, at the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic, the school's indoor DMR record was also broken by a squad comprised of Spadaccini, Fajardo, Gorman, and
Mikeisha Kelly. The relay team finished the event in 11:50.06, 0.67 seconds quicker than the previous record set at the 1992 ECAC Championships.
