Manhattan falls to 2-9 on the season, completing the Jaspers' non-conference schedule. Holy Cross improves to 7-3 on the year.
Highlights:
- Sophomore Courtney Warley (West Chester, PA / Bishop Shanahan) scored a game-high 13 points, including her second-ever collegiate three. She added a team-high (tied) eight boards, as well as three blocks and two steals.
- Pamela Miceus (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) earned career-highs in both points (eight) and rebounds (eight) against the Crusaders, tying for the team-high in boards. She went 3-5 from the floor and 2-2 from the free throw line, pulling down a team-high seven defensive rebounds. Miceus added a block and a steal in her career-high 23 minutes.
- Freshman D'yona Davis (Bronx, NY / Truman) contributed 11 points for the Jaspers, while adding five rebounds.
- Holy Cross' Lauren Manis, who currently leads the country in double-doubles so far this season, finished the game with 11 points, well below her average of 21.6 points per game, and 10 boards. The Jaspers held Manis to just five points and five boards in the first half.
- Manhattan went into the locker room at halftime down just two at 24-22. The third quarter was the difference maker in the game, as the Crusaders earned a 19-10 advantage in the period on 43.8 percent shooting.
- Holy Cross went up by as much as 18 halfway through the fourth, before the Jaspers went on an 11-4 run to cut the lead to nine with 55 seconds left to play. Davis put in six for Manhattan in the run, while Warley added three.
- After a free throw on the other end, a Davis banked three cut the Holy Cross lead to seven with 11 seconds to go, but it would be the closest the Jaspers would get down the stretch before time expired.
Manhattan will take a two-week break before beginning conference play at Canisius on January 3. Tip-off is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
