Bronx, NY - Manhattan cross country's Lisa Fajardo (Brooklyn, NY / Bishop Kearney) placed second overall at the 2018 ECAC Cross Country Championship held Saturday, November 17 in Van Cortlandt Park.

Originally scheduled to be a 5K race, the course was altered Saturday to eliminate the back hills at VCP, making the total course length 3.02 miles. Fajardo finished Saturday's course in 16:47, approximately six seconds behind the winner, Grace Moore from Temple, and improving on her third place finish at the 2017 ECAC Championship.

With the ECAC finish, Fajardo completes her cross country career at Manhattan. She is a four-time All-MAAC honoree, placing in the top 15 at the MAAC Cross Country Championships in all of her four years at Manhattan. She holds the school record for the 5K course at VCP (17:53.77), earned this year at the 2018 Fordham Fiasco, and she won the 2018 Metropolitan Championship this past October.

Fajardo moves on to the track and field indoor and outdoor seasons. She currently holds six indoor/outdoor school records, including the indoor 3K and 5K, and the outdoor 5K and 10K records.
