Riverdale, NY - Despite registering 17 shots in the game, Manhattan fell to Iona 1-0 in overtime on Wednesday evening at Gaelic Park.

The loss puts Manhattan at 3-4 in the MAAC and 10-5 overall. Iona jumps to 3-3-1 against conference foes with a 7-5-2 record on the year.

In the 97th minute, Iona's Esad Mackic possessed the ball towards the end line and fired a close-range shot by the post on Manhattan keeper Marcellin Gohier (Nantes, France / CENS). Gohier deflected the opportunity, but Josh Plimpton cleaned up the rebound, redirecting the ball to the other post to end the game in the first overtime.

Gohier made four saves in the effort. Forwards Berti Fourrier (Marseille, France / IFC Marseille) and Lucas Da Silva (West Palm Beach, FL / Palm Beach Atlantic) led the way with three shots each.

The Jaspers will make their way to Western New York for a match with Niagara on Saturday, October 20 at 6:00 pm before the team heads into its one-week bye.
