Staten Island, NY -
Junior Ryan Addlesberger (Cinnaminson, NJ / Cinnamonsin) and senior Paige Chapman (Abingdon, MD / Harford Technical) both earned first-place honors during the Penn 8 Team Select meet held Saturday, January 20 at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Athletic Facility in Staten Island.

Coming off a win at Fordham's Mike Massone Invitational last week, Addlesberger again took the top spot in the men's shot put, with a distance of 16.31 meters, 0.02 meters further than his winning throw at Fordham. Teammate Anu Awonusi (Dublin, Ireland / Kilkenny College) came in second in the event with a 16-meter distance. With their performances this season, both Addlesberger and Awonusi qualify for the ECAC/IC4A indoor championships to be held March 2-4 in Boston.

Chapman, who earned victories in both the 60- and 200-meter races at the Yale Invitational on Saturday, January 13, posted her fastest 60-meter time this season at 7.59 to bring home first place in the event for the Jaspers. The time is just 0.03 seconds off her winning time for the 2017 ECAC/IC4A indoor championships.

Other top performances for Manhattan included second-place honors for  sophomore Brenton Foster (Townsville, Australia / William Ross) in the high jump. Though Foster posted the same 2.10-meter jump as winner Lance Yassay from Penn, Yassay hit the mark on his first attempt. Foster holds the third-highest jump in Division I after posting a school-record 2.24 meters at the Manhattan Opener in December.

Senior Love Litzell (Ostersund, Sweden / Wargentinskolan) also took home second in the men's weight throw, earning a distance of 18.16 meters and qualifying for the ECAC/IC4A championships. Senior Charlene Pohl (Bisingen, Germany / Gymnasium Balingen) took second in the women's long jump at 5.58 meters.

Up Next:
The Jaspers take on two competitions next week: the Terrier Invitational in Boston and the Columbia East-West Challenge in Manhattan. Both meets begin Friday, January 26 and will continue into the next day.
