New Haven, CT - Jasper sprinters topped the leader board Saturday, January 13 as Manhattan track & field traveled to New Haven, CT to participate in the Yale Invitational.
Senior
Paige Chapman (Abingdon, MD / Harford Technical) claimed first in both the 60-meter dash (7.65) and the 200-meter race (25.55) with her fastest times so far this season. In the 400 meter, junior
Jasmine Davis (Ronkonkoma, NY / Hauppague) grabbed the top spot with a time of 57.69. Junior
Mikeisha Kelly (Albany, NY / Colonie Central) ran the 500-meter race in 1:18.09, more than two seconds faster than the next competitor and good for first place.

Kelly Gorman (South Amboy, NY / Cardinal McCarrick) won the 800-meter for Manhattan, coming in at 2:18.13. Jaspers also topped the 4x400 relay, with freshman

Niasia Boone, and anchor Davis beating out Sacred Heart by nearly two seconds at 4:02.49.
On the men's side, freshman
Rory Grady (Warwick, NY / Warwick Valley) showed the Jasper might in distance, winning the 3000-meter race with a 9:14.19 finish. Grady's teammate and fellow freshman
Jemar Ortega (Valley Cottage, NY / Nyack) finished just behind at 9.18.93 for second place in the event.

Kyle Watkins (Coram, NY / Longwood), senior
Wilmer Jovel-Reyes (Closter, NJ / Northern Valley Regional), and freshman Alexander Moore (Colonia, NJ / John F. Kennedy) grabbed the men's 4x400 relay at 3:21.81, with Moore running a 48.9 anchor leg.
