With the victory, the Jaspers improve to 2-3-1 while the Keydets fall to 2-4.

Sophomore Arianna Montefusco (Levittown, NY / General Douglas MacArthur) also found the back of the net to round out the scorers for Manhattan.

Junior Kelly DiGregorio (Centerreach, NY / St. Anthony's) notched her first collegiate shutout in picking up the victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Junior Emma Saul (Orchard Park, NY / Orchard Park) assisted on Modena's first goal and now has a team-leading two on the season ... Modena scored from six yards out in the box off a perfect feed.
- Freshman Caleigh Farrell (Freehold, NJ / UNH) sent a cross from midfield that Modena heads over the goalkeeper and into the net for the third score of the match.
- Montefusco's score came after she intercepted an errant VMI pass.
- Manhattan's three goals match its total from the first five games combined.
- The three scores are also the most for the Jaspers since they notched three in wins over Iona and Niagara last season.
- For her career, Modena has 25 goals and 57 points ... Both totals rank fourth in school history.
- She also now has seven game-winning scores and three multi-goal performances.
- Manhattan now leads the all-time series with VMI by a 3-0 count and have outscored the Keydets by a 13-0 count during that time.
- The Jaspers owned advantages in shots (22-5) and shots on goal (7-1) with the visitors recording all three corners in the contest.
- DiGregorio notched one save in registering her first win over the season.
- A season-high 24 different Manhattan student-athletes saw action with freshman Alexa Chapman (Morganville, NJ / Marlboro), sophomore Katina Cokinos (Dix Hills, NY / Canisius) and Kelly Hasty (North Haledon, NJ / Paramus Catholic) all making their Jasper debuts.
