Bethlehem, PA - Running against a strong and talented field, the Manhattan Cross Country teams held their own at the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University.
The women took 29th in the 6k event while the men placed 21st out of 30 teams, including first among three MAAC schools, in the 8K race.

Lisa Fajardo (Brooklyn, NY / Bishop Kearney) led the Jaspers for the third-straight time to start the year in finishing 60th. Her time of 20:54 was the second-fastest MAAC mark of the morning.
Junior
Erin Spadaccini (Wilmington, DE / Padua Academy) was the second Manhattan harrier to finish, placing 161st with a mark of 21:44.
Senior
Kaitlyn Smith (Effort, PA / Pleasant Valley) registered a time of 21:52 with junior
Caroline Ferri (Garden City, NY / Garden City) crossing the line in 22:16 and classmate
Keeley Hogan in 22:28.
Alyssa Snyder won the individual title in 19:48 while also leading Utah State to the Team Title.
On the men's side senior John Dove (Monroe, NY / Monroe-Woodbury) ran a strong race to pace the men, placing 94th and third among MAAC student-athletes with a mark of 24:48. Classmate Chris Orlando (Newburyport, MA / Newburyport) was the next Jasper to finish, crossing the line in 24:56 to earn 116th.
Juniors Amir Khaghani (Bethesda, MD / Walt Whitman) and Chad Maier (Melville, NY / Walt Whitman) each clocked a 25:03 with senior Drew Reda (Matawan, NY / Quinnipiac) registering a 25:11 to round out the top-five finishers for Manhattan.
Dillion Maggard captured the individual title with a time of 23:27 while also leading Utah State to the Team Title.
Both Manhattan teams will next compete in the Metropolitan Championships on Friday, October 13.
