Riverdale, NY - The Manhattan College women's basketball returns to action Saturday afternoon against LIU Brooklyn. The Jaspers (2-7) and Blackbirds (4-5) will tip-off at 2 p.m. at the Steinberg Wellness Center on the LIU campus. Manhattan last faced LIU Brooklyn 21 years ago on December 15, 1996. The Blackbirds defeated the Jaspers 76-63 in that contest and are 4-1 all-time against Manhattan. 

Top Storylines:
  • Senior captain Amani Tatum (Cambria Heights, NY / James Madison) currently leads the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in five categories: assists (45), assists per game (5.0), steals (29), steals per game (3.22), and three-point field goal percentage (46.3 percent). She ranks among Division I's top 25 players for steals per game, the top 30 players for steals this season, and the top 35 players for three-point field goals.
  • Senior center Kayla Grimme (Altoona, PA / Altoona Area) currently leads the MAAC in two categories: double-doubles posted so far this season (four) and offensive rebounds per game (4.0). She ranks in Division I's top 25 for offensive rebounds per game, the top 40 for double-doubles this season, and the top 100 for blocked shots and blocked shots per game.
  • Grimme continues her climb up Manhattan's all-time leaders lists. She is 16th all-time in scoring and seventh in rebounding. 
  • Sophomore guard Gabby Cajou (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) leads the MAAC in field-goal percentage, shooting 51.5 percent so far this season and going 34-66 in nine games played. She has shot 50 percent or better in seven games this year and is averaging 9.1 points per game.
  • LIU Brooklyn is led by senior guard Denisha Petty-Evans and rookie guard Jeydah Johnson. Petty-Evans is the the Blackbirds' top scorer at 16.7 points per game, while also averaging four rebounds per outing. Johnson has been named NEC Rookie of the Week twice this season, and posted a team season-high of 27 points against George Mason on December 7. She averages 13.9 points per game.
