New Haven, CT - The Manhattan College men's and women's track and field team continued its 2017-18 indoor season at the Yale Invitational on Saturday, December 9 in New Haven, CT. The Jaspers took home several distance awards, in addition to qualifying marks in sprints and field events.
Senior
John Dove (Monroe, NY / Monroe Woodbury) grabbed first place in the 3,000-meter run with a personal best time of 8:28.84. Teammate
Christian McLaughlin (Allenhurst, NJ / Christian Brothers Academy) finished first in the men's 5K at 15:50.34. And on the women's side, junior
Lisa Fajardo (Brooklyn, NY / Bishop Kearney) ran a personal best of 5:01.39 in the mile event, securing a first-place finish.
Newcomer
Zarah Harris qualified for the ECAC Championships (to be held March 2-4 in Boston) in the 500 meters, with a time of 1:15.36. Veteran
Paige Chapman (Abingdon, MD / Harford Technical) also nabbed an ECAC spot in the 60 meters, coming in second with a time of 7.67, just .01 off of the event winner, Quinnipiac's Jessica Lee.
Sophomore sprinter
Niasia Boone (Morrisville, PA / Pennsbury) hit a personal best in the 200-meters event, running 25.85, which was good for fifth place in the race. Another personal best was set by freshman A.J. Moore (Colonia, NJ / John F. Kennedy) in the 400 meters, where he raced a 49.78 time and landed in second place.
In the field events,
Brenton Foster (Townsville, Australia / William Ross) added another high jump victory to his season awards, jumping 2.14 meters, or just over seven feet. Senior
Charlene Pohl (Bisengen, Germany / Gymasium Balingen) took home first place in the long jump with a distance of 5.42 meters.

The Jaspers will travel back to New Haven on Saturday, January 13 to once again compete at Yale, followed by the Penn 8 Team Select on January 20.
