Second-Half Push Falls Short In 74-63 Loss

Manhattan trimmed a double-digit deficit to one on a pair of occasions but couldn't any closer in dropping a 74-63 decision to UMKC in the first game of the 2017 Gulf Coast Showcase (GCS).

Sophomore Aaron Walker Jr. (Brooklyn, NY / Cardozo) paced three double-figure scorers with 14 points while seniors Rich Williams (Brooklyn, NY / Vermont Academy (VT)) and Zavier Turner (Indianapolis, IN / Ball State) each had 10.

Broderick Robinson had 26 points, five rebounds and five assists to pace the Kangaroos, which shot 46.8 percent (22-of-47), including 50.0 percent (9-of-18) from deep.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Walker Jr. scored 12 of his 14 points after halftime.
- The Jaspers owned the glass to the tune of 35-28, including 13-7 on the offensive end.
- Manhattan registered a 15-8 advantage in second-chance points.
