Lake Buena Vista, FL - Top-seeded Monmouth ended Manhattan's postseason run with a 5-1 win in Championship of the 2017 MAAC Women's Soccer Championship at Disney's Wide World of Sports.

Despite the loss, senior Erica Modena (Massapequa, NY / Massapequa), junior Kelly DiGregorio (Centereach, NY / St. Anthony's) and sophomore Arianna Montefusco (Levittown, NY / General Douglas MacArthur) earned MAAC All-Tournament Team honors.

DiGregorio was the story of the match over the first 30 minutes, making five saves saves, including one on a 1-v-1 opportunity in the fifth minute before her full-extension dive in the 28th minute kept the Hawks at bay.

Unfortunately, Monmouth broke through in the 38th minute when Alli DeLuca blasted a goal into the upper left corner for the first score of the day.

After halftime, Rachelle Ross extended the Hawk lead to 2-0 in the 51st minute off a cross.

Monmouth then added three more goals in opening a 5-0 advantage.

Manhattan would get one back when junior Annie Doerr (Pittsford, NY / Our Lady of Mercy) scored in the 78th minute off a goalie rebound on a 50/50 ball.

The Jaspers finish up the tournament with 10 goals and the season with a 10-7-3 record.

DiGregorio made six saves in goal.

DeLuca and Madie Gibson each had a goal and an assist to pace Monmouth.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

- Modena (3G, 2A), Montefusco (2G) and DiGregorio (2 wins, 18 saves) all earned MAAC All-Tournament Team honors.

- Manhattan finishes the season with double-figures in wins for the second time in three years and just the fourth time in school history.

- The Jaspers' 39 goals are third in school history, trailing just the 1993 (53) and 2006 (42) teams.

- Modena ends her outstanding career with 34 career goals and 82 career points, both of which rank second in school history behind Emily Rogic's 'school-record totals of 40 goals and 95 points, set between 1993-1996.

- Modena also finished up her career with six goals and three asists over seven career MAAC Tournament games.
 
- Modena, Montefusco and junior Emma Saul (Orchard Park, NY / Orchard Park) combined for 24 of the Jaspers' 39 goals and 19 of their 29 assists on the season.

- Modena's 11 goals are tied for the fifth-best mark in single-season annals while Montefusco's nine scores are tied for the ninth most.

- Modena's career-high 29 points are also fourth jn school history while Montefusco's 21 are tied for eighth.

- Saul's nine assists are the second most in a single-season at Manhattan with Modena's seven helpers tying for fourth.

- Head Coach Brendan Lawler is 27-22-7 over the last three years, including 19-10-6 against MAAC opposition after going 27-57-7 over his first five seasons, including 12-31-5 against MAAC teams.

- Monmouth leads the all-time series with Manhattan by an 8-0 count, including 6-0 since joining the MAAC in 2013.

- The Hawks win their third MAAC title in five years and are now 15-3-2.
 
- Allie Girardi was named the MAAC Tournament Most Outstanding Performer.
