Hellertown, PA - The Manhattan golf team posted its most impressive performance of the year, finishing eighth with a score of 625 at the Coca-Cola Lehigh Valley Invite.
The Jaspers were second among six MAAC insitutions at the Silver Creek Country Club despite playing under heavy winds and rainy conditions.After posting a score of 318 in the first round, the Jaspers shaved 11 shots off in recording a second-day mark of 307.
Sophomore
Ryan Lynch (Boynton Beach, FL / Park Vista) was again the team's low scorer, carding a 154 (+12) in placing 23rd. On day two, Lynch shot a team-low 75 and was matched by sophomore
Charles Seward (Tampa, FL / Freedom), who improved his second-day score by nine strokes in also registering a 75.
Junior Jon Keyes (Bayport, NY / Bayport-Blue Point) finshed just one shot behind Lynch with a 155 (+13) in finishing 26th. Fueled by a strong final round, Seward was 49th with a 159 (+17).
Senior
Ross Ketner (Huntington, NY / Saint Anthony's) and sophomore
Johnny Schob (
Huntington, NY / Salisbury School) tied for fouth on the squad and 62nd overall with a score of 161 (+19).
Fordham won the team-title with a 601 score while La Salle's PJ Acierno carded a 146 in claiming the individual title.
Manhattan return to action on Monday, April 11 at the Glen Oak Shootout.
