Hempstead, NY - Hofstra posted a wire-to-wire 14-4 win over Manhattan in non-conference action at University Field.

The Pride improves to 9-24 while the Jaspers fall to 9-20.

Eight of the nine Manhattan regulars hit safely as the visitors rapped out 12 hits on the afternoon led by junior Jose Carrera (Miami, FL / St. Brendan), who finished 3-for-5 with a triple and a run.

Classmate Jason Patnick (Hopewell, NJ / IMG Academy (FL)) finished up 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI while freshman Fabian Pena (Miami, FL / Calusa Prep) was 2-for-3 with a run and two walks to round out the multi-hit performers for the Jaspers.

Senior Christian Santisteban (Miami, FL / Gulliver Prep) also reached base for the 15th-straight game and the 28th time in 29 outings thanks to his seventh-inning double.

For Hofstra, David Leiderman finished up 3-for-5 with a grand slam and six RBI to pace a 15-hit attack.

Manhattan returns to action with a doubleheader at Marist on Saturday, April 16 with first pitch slated for 12:00 pm.
