Riverdale, NY - Manhattan (8-11; 5-5 MAAC) returns to action against Rider (9-13; 5-6 MAAC) on Tuesday, February 2 at 7:00 pm.

TOP STORYLINES 
#1 - Tuesday's game is the first of 10 for the Jaspers to be played in the month of February.

#2 - Manhattan is 20-6 the last two years in the months of February/March and 28-10 since the start of the 2012-2013 season.

#3 - The Broncs shot a blistering 55.0 percent from the field, including 50.0 percent from long distance.

QUICK HITS
* Senior Shane Richards averaged 19.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while shooting 50.0 percent (9-of-18) from deep against Rider a year ago.

* Steve Masiello is 4-4, all-time, vs. the Broncs.

* Masiello is 62-35 (.639) against MAAC teams, including going 33-11 (.750) at home and 21-22 (.488) on the road.

* Three of Masiello's 11 losses at home have come to Rider as the Broncs have claimed five of the last six meetings between the teams at Draddy Gymnasium.

* At Iona, junior Rich Williams paced the team in scoring for the fifth time this year with 15 points, all of which came in the second half.

* Manhattan has won seven of its last 11 games thanks to averaging 71.7 ppg while shooting 44.6 percent from the floor, including 40.9 percent from long range, and 75.1 percent from the line.

* Defensively, the Jaspers are limiting the opposition to just 44.4 percent shooting from the floor and 29.6 percent from deep, including 24.5 percent (24-of-98) after halftime, over the last 11.

* Richards is averaging a team-best 17.3 points per game over the last 11 games while shooting 43.1 percent (53-of-123) from the field, 43.8 percent (32-of-73) on threes and 88.1 percent (52-of-59) from the line.

* Also during the last 11 games, Williams (14.6 ppg, 7.2 rpg) and sophomore Zane Waterman (11.6 ppg, 5.8 rpg) are notching double-figures in scoring while Stores (9.5 ppg, 3.2 apg) and Crawford (9.3 ppg) have developed into reliable scoring threats. Stores is also shooting 40.4 percent (19-of-47) from deep with a 2.3 assist/turnover ratio. Junior Tyler Wilson is also averaging 5.8 assists each time out with a 1.9 assist/turnover rate.

* In the last five minutes over the last 11 games Manhattan has outscored the opposition by an average of 4.0 points per game thanks to making good on 80.8 percent (59-of-73) from the line while holding opposing teams to 32.6 percent shooting (31-of-95), including just 16.7 percent (5-of-30) from long range.

* This season, opposing three-point shooters are converting on 37.8 percent (57-of-156) in the first half compared to a scant 29.2 percent (45-of-154) after halftime against the Jasper D.

* Over the final five minutes/overtime during MAAC play, Manhattan is shooting a blistering 83.1 percent (49-of-59) from the line.

* In the win over Monmouth, the Jaspers hit on each of their last four shots while ending the game on a 13-2 run, including 9-0 after the Hawks went up two with just under two minutes to play.

* Despite failing to notch double-figures in points for just the second time this season in the thrilling victory over Monmouth, Richards handed out a career-high matching five assists and hit the go-ahead three pointer.

* Since returning to MAAC play in January, Richards is averaging 16.3 points, 3.1 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game during that time while shooting 43.8 percent (21-of-48) from beyond the arc and 89.2 percent (33-of-37) from the line, highlighted by a career-high 32 points in the win at Canisius, on 11-of-14 shooting (6-of-7, 3-pt).

* On the year, Richards has led Manhattan in scoring 11 times with 17 double-figures performances while notching seven of the Jaspers' 14 20-point performances and now has 14 for his career.

* After halftime over his last 11 games, Richards is notching 10.3 points each time out while shooting 52.6 percent (20-of-38) from long range and 91.2 percent (33-of-36) from the line, highlighted by hitting for 25 in the second half of the victory at Canisius and 15 of his team-high 21 points in the win vs. Siena.

* In the victory over Morgan State, Richards converted a career-high seven three pointers en route to registering 28 points with seven caroms.

* A 2015-2016 All-MAAC Preseason Second Team selection, Richards was the hero in the first win of the year, a 69-67 come-from-behind triumph over George Mason, thanks to banking in a jumper with 1.2 seconds to play after earlier becoming the 37th member of the school's 1,000-point club.

* The New York native ranks among the MAAC leaders in scoring (17.4 ppg-5th), free throw percentage (.838-4th), threes (2.6/game-7th) and minutes (37.2-2nd).

* From long range, Richards has converted at least three triples in 57 of his 117 games - including at least four 31 times - and is the school's single-season (92-2015) and career (283) leader in threes. When he connects on four in a game, the Jaspers are 21-10, including 17-7 over the last three seasons.

* Lost in the midst of Richards' offensive outburst in the win at Canisius was Williams' third career double-double (19 points, 11 rebounds) with a career-high five assists.

* He had his second double-double (23 points, 10 rebounds) in the win over Morgan State after registering his first against Columbia (17 points, 11 rebounds).

* Williams has also hit for at least 20 points four times, highlighted by career-high 26 in the victory over George Mason.

* On the year, Williams, is among the MAAC leaders in scoring (15.6 ppg-11th), rebounding (6.8 rpg-8th), defensive rebounds (5.2 drpg-4th) and free throw percentage (.797-12th) while leading the team in rebounding a team-best 11 times.

* Williams has improved both his scoring (+10.1 ppg) and rebounding (+5.3) numbers from a year ago.

* The duo of Richards and Williams became the first set of Jasper teammates to each notch 20 points in a game this year in the win at Morgan State and are averaging a combined 33.0 points per game (4th MAAC).

* Stores scored 14 points with a season-high six assists, against just one turnover, and three steals in the win over Monmouth and leads the MAAC with a 2.5 assist/turnover ratio.

* In the win over Niagara, Stores scored 15 points, highlighted by four free throws over the final 11.9 seconds, after hitting for 16 points over a career-high 49 minutes in the win over Siena.

* Stores scored a career-high 18 points against Marist, fueled by a career-high matching five three pointers, and is averaging 8.8 points and 3.0 assists (11th MAAC) per game while ranking fourth in the MAAC with a 41.2 percent (28-of-68) conversion rate from long range with 1.8 triples (14th MAAC) per game.

* For his career, Stores, a 2015-2016 All-MAAC Preseason Third Team selection, is shooting 40.9 percent (65-of-159) on threes after halftime for his career, including making good on 43.5 percent (40-of-92) since the start of last year. Stores also has a 3.4 assist/turnover ratio (62 assists/18 TO) over the last two years in the second half.

* The Jaspers are 43-23 over the last three years when Stores, who was granted an extra year of eligibility on July 22, 2015 by the NCAA, starts including going 17-8 last year.

* Both Richards & Stores are the only MAAC student-athletes to have played in the last three MAAC title games and have been a part of 66 total wins, including going 8-1 during MAAC Tournament play.

* Manhattan defeated Monmouth in large part to a career-high 20 points from Calvin Crawford, who finished up 8-of-12 from the floor.

* For his efforts, Crawford became the first Jasper to be named MAAC Player of the Week this year while becoming the fourth different Jasper to hit for at least 20 points this season

* Fueled by Crawford, the bench outscored the starters 46-32.

* Williams added 15 points and freshman Thomas Capuano 11 off the bench, with the second unit shooting 52.9 percent (18-of-34) from the floor.

* Capuano, who followed that up with eight points at Iona, is sixth in the MAAC in three-point shooting (.408) and third in steals (1.6 spg). He also is making good on a blistering 52.4 percent (11-of-21) on threes during MAAC play.

* Wilson, who helped energize Manhattan's back-to-back 90-point performances in early January, is averaging a MAAC-best 5.8 assists per game and has registered a career-high 10 assists twice this season, including most recently in the victory at Morgan State.

* DYK??? Wilson paced the Jaspers with a career-high six rebounds at Iona with six assists.

* Wilson, who has paced the squad in assists in 16 games this season, also dished out 10, against one turnover, vs. Marist. His performance against the Red Foxes was the first double-figure outing by a Jasper student-athlete since Von Damien Green had 10 against Saint Peter's on January 30, 2002.

* On the year, Wilson, who has also handed out at least seven assists on nine occasions, is second the MAAC and is 26th nationally (5.8 apg) while also ranking among the league leaders in steals (1.4 spg-6th) and assist-turnover ratio (1.7-6th).

* Waterman has scored in double-figures in seven of his last nine, averaging 12.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game during that time while shooting 48.1 percent (37-of-77) from the floor.

* He notched his first career double-double with 12 points and a personal-best and a Jasper season-high 13 points in the win over Siena after going for a career-high 23 points at EKU. Waterman has now notched double-figures in points nine times.

* Waterman, who scored 22 points against Columbia, ranks among the league leaders in scoring (10.9 ppg-28th), rebounding (5.8 rpg-14th), field goal percentage (.476-10th) and offensive rebounding (2.1 opg-10th).

* Crawford, who scored 20 against Monmouth after recording 19 in his previous three games, had 14 in the victory over Fairfield, 15 in the win over Siena and 13 in the victory at Canisius.

* Manhattan turned Siena over 23 times and rank 22nd nationally with a MAAC-best 15.8 forced turnovers per game and have turned the opposition over at least 16 times in 11 games.

* During Masiello's tenure, the Jaspers are 20-9 when forcing the opposition into at least 20 turnovers.

* Manhattan registered 10 steals in the win over Monmouth and is 33-5 when hitting the 10-steal standard since Masiello took over the program, including 22-2 over the last three years.

* The Jaspers also had 10 steals in the victory over Fairfield and are second in the MAAC and 45th nationally with 7.6 per game.

* Manhattan is 42-5 when leading at the half over the last three seasons, including going a perfect 15-0 a year ago. Additionally, since the start of last season Manhattan is 22-2 when leading with five minutes to play and 18-13 in games decided by 10 points or less.

* Masiello, who holds a career record of 87-64 (54-32 MAAC), set the school-record for MAAC Tourney wins a year ago with his eighth against Iona while breaking ESPN analyst Fran Fraschilla's previous mark.

* Since returning to Riverdale, Masiello has led the Jaspers to a pair of MAAC Titles as well as a pair of 20-plus win campaigns. In his first tenure, he was a part of two MAAC Championships and three 20-plus win seasons. All told, Masiello has been a member of four of the five Manhattan MAAC Championship teams and five of the Jaspers' 12 20-win seasons in accruing a 170-100 record.

* In his 20th season as either a player or a coach, Masiello has a career collegiate record of 448-210, including 327-182 on the sidelines, with one National Title, two National Championship appearances, two Final Four appearances, six Elite Eight berths, eight conference championships, 13 NCAA Tournament appearances and 15 20-win seasons.
