Buffalo, NY - The Manhattan men's swimming & diving team is in seventh place with 156.5 points after day three of the 2016 MAAC Championships at the Flickinger Center.
In the 100-butterfly, senior Dallan Treanor (Monroe, N.Y. / Monroe-Woodbury) finished eighth (50.84) and sophomore Neil Perry (Elkridge, Md. / Loyola Blakefield) 10th (50.74) with Rich Llewellyn (East Islip, N.Y. / East Islip) clocking a personal-best 51.61.
Treanor also paced the squad in the 100-back, placing ninth in 52.57 with senior Lance Neuendorf (Blauvelt, N.Y. / Tappan Zee) taking 15th in a time of 53.29. Sophomore Mitchell Rifkind (New Paltz, N.Y. / New Paltz) also clocked a personal-best 58.69 to round out the top Jasper performers in the event.
Sophomore Brandon Shields (Stony Point, N.Y. / George Mason) placed 11th in the 200-free in a time of 1:43.67 while Evan Battisti (East Meadow, N.Y / East Meadow) also scored in the 1000-free, taking ninth in 9:47.54.
Sophomore Tyler McCloskey (Orangeburg, N.Y. / Tappan Zee) paced Manhattan in the 400-IM (4:17.16) while Matthew Silvestri (Howell, N.J. / Howell) recorded a personal-best 1:02.02.
Concluding the day's action was the 200-freestyle relay team of Neuendorf, Treanor, Llewellyn and senior Thomas Dougherty (Fresh Meadow, N.Y. / Archbishop Molloy) clocked a 3:29.34 in placing eighth.
The Jaspers return to action on Saturday, February 13 at 10:00 am with the 200-back prelims.
