RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan (12-12; 9-6 MAAC) will look to snap a two-game losing streak while avenging an early December loss to Fairfield (6-19; 4-11 MAAC) on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m.

TOP STORYLINES
#1 - The teams last met on Friday, Dec. 5 or 72 days ago.

#2 - In the teams' MAAC opener, Marcus Gilbert scored a game-high 24 points to help the Stags overcome a career-high 23 points from junior Ashton Pankey.

#3 - Manhattan has won each of the last three meetings between the teams in Draddy Gymnasium (10.3 ppg)


QUICK HITS
* Manhattan dropped a heartbreaking 70-67 decision to Iona on Friday night before a sold out crowd of 2,520 and before a nationally televised ESPNU audience.

* Despite the defeat, the Jaspers limited the first place Gaels to their second lowest scoring output (70) of the season while turning over the MAAC leaders a season-high 21 times and shooting a season-best 85.7 percent (12-of-14) from the line.

* The 21 miscues were the most by the Gaels since they were forced into 23 turnovers at Hofstra on Dec. 29, 2011.

* It also marked the eighth time this year that Manhattan has turned an opponent over at least 20 times.

* The Jaspers are fourth nationally with 17.0 forced turnovers per game.

* Manhattan also leads the MAAC and 56th overall with 7.5 steals per game and is 4-1 this season and 15-1 over the last two seasons when forcing at least 10.

* Additionally, the Jaspers are 26-4 under head coach Steve Masiello when forcing at least 10 turnovers, including 18-1 against MAAC opposition.

* Thanks to posting a +10 margin against Iona on Friday night, Manhattan is second in the MAAC and 69th nationally with a +1.7 turnover margin.

* Despite dropping a three-point decision to the Gaels, the Jaspers are 7-3 in MAAC games decided by 10 points or less thanks to shooting 73.1 percent from the line while limiting the opposition to just 42.4 percent shooting, including 31.0 percent from deep while posting a +1.1 rebounding margin.

* Manhattan is 13-4 in the months of February and March since the start of last season and is 19-7 over the last two-plus years.

* Masiello and the Jaspers are 7-3 in 10-point games against MAAC opposition after going just 14-19 over his first three seasons.

* When playing at Draddy Gymnasium, Manhattan 7-2 this year and has won 11-of-13 and 16-of-19. Additionally, the Jaspers are 32-13 at home under Masiello.

* Senior Emmy Andujar led the Jaspers against Iona with 17 points, nine rebounds and a career-best matching four steals one game after recording 19 points, 11 rebounds and four steals over a career-high 45 minutes of action against Rider. The double-double was his fourth of the season and the eighth of his career. 

* Andujar now has eight double-digit rebounding performances and moved into seventh place (150) in the all-time Manhattan steal annals.

* Anduajar also is 21st in school history with 1,197 points and eighth with 333 assists. He is also just outside the top-10 list for rebounds and with seven more caroms and three more points will become the first player in school history with 1,200 points, 700 rebounds, 300 assists and 150 steals.

* Over his last 11 games, Andujar is averaging a team-best 19.7ppg, 7.4 rpg, 3.6 apg and 2.6 spg while hitting for at least 20 points on seven occasions - highlighted by a season-high 27 points at Monmouth.

* Andujar is the only MAAC player to rank among the top-six in the league in scoring (16.3-6th), rebounding (7.2-6th), assists (3.4-6th) and steals (2.1-2nd) (37th NCAA) while pacing the Jaspers in all four categories.  He is also fourth in field goal percentage (.516 ) (59th NCAA).

* Also joining Andujar with a big game against Iona was Pankey, who finished with 17 points in just 21 minutes, one game after also notching a double-double  against Rider with 16 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. 

* For the Maryland transfer, who also recorded a career-high four assists and three steals against the Broncs, it was his second of the year and the third of his career.

* The multiple double-doubles at Rider marked the first time that Manhattan had two players record double-doubles in the same game since George Beamon (14 points, 10 rebounds) and Demetrius Jemison (13 points, 10 rebounds) did so at Loyola on Jan. 20, 2011.

* Like Andujar, Pankey has been outstanding over his last 11 games, averaging 16.1 ppg and 6.6 rpg while hitting for at least 16 points on eight occasions.

* Pankey ranks among the MAAC leaders in scoring (12.8 ppg-15th), rebounding (6.5 rpg-7th), field goal percentage (.539-2nd) and blocks (1.4 bpg-3rd) while hitting for at least 20 points on two occasions - including a career-high 23 in the first meeting with Fairfield.

* Junior Shane Richards again hit for double-figures (12) against Iona thanks to making good on four three pointers after finishing up with 18 points and five rebounds while going 4-of-9 from long distance at Rider.

* For his career, Richards has converted on at least three triples in 44 of his 89 games, and at least four in 23 games. When the New York City native hits at least four, the Jaspers are 16-7, including 12-4 over the last two seasons.

* Richards, who recently became the first player in school history with 200 three pointers (currently 211), is now just eight three pointers shy of his single-season school record of 77 that he shares with Jeff Xavier. 

* Richards continues to rank among the MAAC leaders in scoring (13.3 ppg-12th), three pointers/game (2.9-2nd) (30th NCAA), three-point field goal percentage (.381-9th) and free throw percentage (.795-9th) while notching six 20-point performances.

* Andujar (9), Richards (6) and Pankey (2) have also combined for the 17 Manhattan 20-point outings and 49 of the Jaspers' 61 double-figure scoring performances while leading the squad in scoring in all but one game this season and accounting for 60.7 percent (1000/1648), including 63.2 percent (674/1067) during MAAC play.

* Sophomore Tyler Wilson handed out a career-high matching seven assists against Iona and is averaging 4.0 apg with a 2.0 assist/turnover ratio over his last six games. Wilson, who has handed out at least four assists 11 times this year, continues to rank among the MAAC leaders in assists (3.2 apg-7th), steals (1.3 spg-11th) and assist/turnover ratio (1.5-5th).

* Sophomore Rich Williams is averaging 8.7 ppg while shooting 46.3 percent (19-for-41) from the floor and 45.5 percent (10-for-22) from long range over his last six games after returning ot the bench. In the five games prior, Williams had scored just 10 points. 

* In 12 games off the bench this season, Williams is averaging 6.9 ppg on 40.8 percent shooting compared to just 4.8 ppg on 36.1 percent from the field in 12 games as a starter. 

* Senior RaShawn Stores, who narrowly missed his first career double-double with nine assists to go along with nine points in the win at Monmouth, continues to rank among the league leaders in three point percentage (.391-5th) and assists (3.0 apg-9th).

* During league play, Stores paces the MAAC in three-point percentage (.463) and assist/turnover ratio (2.7). In the second half of league games, Stores is shooting a blistering 60.0 percent (12-of-20) from distance, including 71.4 percent (5-of-7) in the final five minutes.

* Sophomore Carlton Allen scored his first points since early December and played 13 big minutes off the bench against Iona while pulling down a career-high three rebounds.

* Also against the Gaels, the HEADstrong Foundation honored Jasper broadcaster Christian Heimall as players from both teams wore lime green shoelaces to help in the battle against blood cancers. Heimall was diagnosed in December and is currently undergoing chemothreapy.

* Manhattan is 54-50, all-time, vs. Fairfield with Masiello holding a 5-4 career record at the Nutmeg State institution.

* Since returning to Riverdale, Masiello has led the Jaspers to the program's fourth MAAC Championship as well as a pair of 20-plus win campaigns. In his first tenure, he was a part of two MAAC Championships and three 20-plus win seasons. All told, Masiello has been a member of three of Manhattan''s four MAAC Championship teams and five of their 12 20-win seasons while accruing a 155-87 record.

* In his 19th season as either a player or a coach, Masiello has a career collegiate record of 433-198, including 312-170 on the sidelines, with one National Title, two National Championship appearances, two Final Four appearances, six Elite Eight berths, seven conference championships, 12 NCAA Tournament appearances and 15 20-win seasons.
