RIVERDALE, NY – It's been nearly 20 years since the Manhattan College women's basketball team put up 100 points in an official game. But the Jaspers did just that on Saturday night in an exhibition contest, knocking off Felician by a 101-68 score at Draddy Gymnasium.
Playing under the new four-quarter format for the first time, Manhattan jumped out of the gate, opening up a 36-19 lead after 10 minutes. The Jaspers led 58-32 at halftime before Felician closed within 76-57 after three. Manhattan outscored Felician 25-11 in the fourth quarter, though, hitting the century mark on a three-pointer by freshman Courtney Hagaman (Toms River, NJ) with just over a minute left.
Crystal Ross (Philadelphia, PA), Amani Tatum (Cambria Heights, NY) and Blake Underhill (Edgewater, NJ) had 18 points apiece to lead the Jaspers, while Nicole Anderson (Hamden, CT) contributed 10 points. Kylla Champagne (Paterson, NJ) grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds in the victory.
Shylla Osmond and Alex Salaycik each recorded 11 points for the Golden Falcons. Hannah Johnson added 10 points, while Kameron Stone collected a team-best eight rebounds.
The Jaspers open the 2015-16 regular season next Saturday with a 2 p.m. matchup at Fairleigh Dickinson. This will be the third straight year in which Manhattan will face the Knights in the season opener.
