Jaspers Card Low Round on Day Two of Lehigh Invitational

UPPER SAUCON, Pa. - The Manhattan golf team led by a stellar round of 74 (+2) from sophomore Johnny Schob (Huntington, N.Y. / Salisbury School), posted the low team score on the second and final day of the Lehigh Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The event, hosted by the Mountain Hawks, was played at the par-72 Grace Course at the Saucon Valley Country Club.

As a team, Manhattan carded a 305 (+17) in Round 2, concluding the final 18 holes with the lowest team score of any of the 12 competing institutions. Senior Michael Giannico (Blue Point, N.Y. / Bayport-Blue Point) posted a 76 (+4) to finish the afternoon as Manhattan's second lowest scorer. Junior Jon Keyes (Bayport, N.Y. / Bayport-Blue Point) shot a 77 (+5), while sophomore Ryan Lynch (Boynton Beach, Fla. / Park Vista) finished with a 78 (+6).

Manhattan's team score of 305 on Day 2 placed them three strokes ahead of Bucknell and Siena and four ahead of Monmouth for the final round.

For the tournament, the Jaspers finished 11th with a team total of 641 (+65). After posting a team score of 336 (+48) in Round 1, the team recovered exceptionally well on Day 2.

The Jaspers will return to action on Monday, Oct. 19, when the squad hosts the single day Glen Oaks Shootout. The event will begin at 8:15 a.m. when the teams hit the tee box. The tournament will mark Manhattan's final event of the fall season.
