BOSTON – The Manhattan College women's indoor track & field team had some stellar performances at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational from Boston University's Track & Tennis Center on Friday.  Lydia Wehrli (Anieres, Switzerland) captured third place in the weight throw, while Paige Chapman (Abingdon, Md.) (200 meters) and Maddesen Weekes (Clifton Park, N.Y.) (pole vault) recorded qualifying marks for the ECAC Championships.

Wehrli's mark of 18.21 meters (59 feet, nine inches) was a new personal best, as she finished third out of 39 competitors.  Meanwhile, in the pole vault, Marisa Robbins (Goshen, N.Y.) grabbed fourth place with a leap of 3.70 m (12'1½).  Weekes reached the ECAC qualifying standard with a clearance at 3.60 m (11'9¾), which placed her seventh overall.

Chapman also qualified for the ECAC Championships with a personal-best time of 25.01 seconds in the 200.  Fellow freshman Kelly Gorman (South Amboy, N.J.) registered a personal best in the 800 meters (2:15.64), while Alexa Roda (Staten Island, N.Y.) had a 2:58.36 clocking in the 1000 meters.  Doreen Horschig (Lumpzig, Germany), meanwhile, secured 15th place in the 60 meter hurdles (9.08).  In addition, the 4x400 meter relay squad of Kiara Montavon (Rome, Italy), Nicole Mainente (Shirley, N.Y.), Kathy Cadet (Endicott, N.Y.) and Gorman posted a time of 3:54.46 to win its heat and finish 12th overall.

On Saturday, the meet resumes with the men's events.  Competition will get underway at 10:45 a.m.
