DEAL, N.J. - The Jaspers completed the MU Hawk Invitational in third place with a team score of 319 (+35). The tournament, which was a single day event, was held at the Deal Golf and Country Club.
Saint Peter's University earned the low team score with a 313 (+29), narrowly defeating host Monmouth by one stroke.
For Manhattan, seniors Jonathan Feuer and Chris Calabro led the way. Feuer had the Jaspers low round with a 76 (+5), leaving him with the third lowest score of the tournament. Calabro, who had a tough front nine with a 42, turned his afternoon around in a hurry with a 35 on the final nine to finish at 77 (+6). Calabro's round was the seventh lowest of the day.
Manhattan returns to action on Thursday, April 24, when the team competes in the 2014 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship at Disney's Palm Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The tournament is a four-day event, with the final round set for Sunday, April 27.
