HAMBURG, N.J. - After a windy second and final day of competition at the Crystal Springs Country Club, the Jaspers completed the FDU Invitational in eleventh place with a team score of 662 (+94).
As a team, the Jaspers completed the final round of the tournament with a 334 (+50), six strokes more than their round one total of 328 (+44). No Manhattan golfer scored in the 70s on the final day, as the windy conditions added an extra element of difficulty to the course.
Senior Chris Calabro was the low man of the day for the Jaspers, shooting an 81 (+10). "The wind was howling again today," Calabro said after his round.
Sophomores James Edgeworth and Michael Giannico each improved their scores from day one in the second round. Edgeworth shot an 85, one stroke better than his first round 86. Giannico hit an 82 in the second round, improving his first round score by four shots.
Senior Jonathan Feuer, who finished with the lowest score on the team on day one, shot an 86 (+15) in the final round.
The Jaspers will next compete on Thursday, April 17, in the Monmouth University Invitational. The tournament will be held at the Deal Golf and Country Club in Deal, N.J. The competition is scheduled for a 1 p.m. tee off.
