HAMBURG, N.J. - The Jaspers finished round one of the FDU Invitational in ninth place. The tournament, which will conclude on Monday, is being held at the Crystal Springs Country Club.
Manhattan ended day one of the invitational with a four-man score of 328 (+44). Senior Jonathan Feuer led the pack with a 77 (+6). Feuer posted the eleventh lowest round of the day. Fellow senior Chris Calabro also enjoyed success on day one, shooting a 79 (+8). Calabro's score was the nineteenth lowest of all players. "The course was very tight and left little room for error," Calabro said. "Furthermore, the wind was gusting upwards of 30 miles per hour, which made it all the more difficult. On a good note, the greens were in excellent shape," Calabro added.
Sophomores James Edgeworth and Michael Giannico each ended day one with scores of 86 (+15).
Five teams sit behind the Jaspers after the first day of competition.
The final round is set to begin on Monday at 8 a.m.
