Manhattan Falls to Adelphi In Exhibition, 77-74

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – On Friday night, the Manhattan College women's basketball team took on Adelphi in an exhibition contest at Draddy Gymnasium.  The Jaspers led 35-30 at halftime, but the Pioneers ultimately came away with a 75-72 victory.

Shayna Ericksen (Long Valley, N.J.) led the Jaspers with 18 points, while Nyasha Irizarry (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had 15 points and Jacqui Thompson (Southampton, Pa.) tallied 11 points.  Kayla Grimme (Altoona, Pa.) finished with 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds.

Kelly Mannix had a double-double for the Panthers with 16 points and 10 rebounds.  Sierra Clark added 14 points and nine rebounds, while Lauren Nuss contributed 12 points.

The Jaspers open the regular season on Friday, Nov. 14, when they host Fairleigh Dickinson at 7 p.m.  Manhattan defeated the Knights, 73-63, in last year's season opener.
