JASPERS VS. GOLDEN GRIZZLIES
Manhattan (1-5) hits the road for the first time since Nov. 20 for tonight's matchup against Oakland (1-6) at the Athletics Center O'rena.? This is the Jaspers' first game in the State of Michigan since an 84-54 loss at Central Michigan on Dec. 30, 1997.? Manhattan is looking to snap a five-game skid and is coming off a 74-58 defeat against Holy Cross on Sunday afternoon.? The Golden Grizzlies last played on Saturday, when they dropped an 81-57 decision at Temple.? Oakland knocked off Niagara, 71-57, on Nov. 27.

ABOUT MANHATTAN
The Jaspers (1-5), who are coming off a 74-58 loss to Holy Cross, are looking to snap a five-game skid.? Manhattan hasn't played a road game since opening the season with three straight away from home.? Senior guard Monica Roeder paces the Jaspers in scoring with an average of 13.2 points per game.? She also pulls down 5.0 rebounds per contest.? Junior guard Nicole Isaacs tallies 10.2 points per game and sinks 2.7 three-pointers per contest.? Freshman center Kayla Grimme has recorded a double-double in each of her last two games.  She leads the Jaspers in rebounding (7.2 rpg) and blocks (1.0 bpg), and ranks third on the squad in scoring (9.8 ppg).? Junior forward Ashley Stec chips in 7.7 points per outing.? Senior guard Allison Skrec, meanwhile, dishes out a team-high 5.5 assists a night to go along with 6.3 points per game.? After taking a 12-day break for finals, Manhattan returns to action with its final non-conference road game of the season at VCU on Dec. 18.

After picking up its first win of the season over Niagara on Nov. 27, the Golden Grizzlies (1-6) suffered an 81-57 loss at Temple on Saturday afternoon.? Sophomore forward Olivia Nash leads Oakland in both scoring and rebounding.  She averages 13.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.? Sophomore guard Elena Popkey notches 11.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest to go along with 3.4 assists per outing.? Senior guard Victoria Lipscomb is the team leader in assists, handing out 3.9 an outing.? She also paces the Golden Grizzlies with 2.4 steals per game and tallies 7.1 points per contest.? Senior forward Kim Bee ranks third on the squad in scoring (9.0 ppg) and second in rebounding (6.6 rpg), and her 2.0 blocks per game are a team-high.? Senior forward Bethany Watterworth, meanwhile, contributes 7.0 points per contest.? Head Coach Jeff Tungate is in his first season at Oakland.? Up next for Tungate's team is a matchup at No. 25 Michigan State on Dec. 15.

SERIES HISTORY
This is the second all-time meeting between the Jaspers and Golden Grizzlies.? In the inaugural matchup last season at Draddy Gymnasium, Manhattan came away with a 47-43 victory.? Manhattan's last contest against a member of the Horizon League (Oakland played in the Summit League last season) was a 73-71 triumph at Wright State in the quarterfinals of the 2011 Women's Basketball Invitational.

HOLY CROSS 74, MANHATTAN 58
Holy Cross shot 47.5 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range en route to a 74-58 victory over the Jaspers at Draddy Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon.? The Crusaders had a 25-9 lead midway through the first half before Manhattan responded with a 10-4 rally to make it a 10-point game, 29-19, with 5:09 left before halftime.? Holy Cross led 39-27 at the break, then went on a 15-2 run early in the second half to increase the margin to 25 points, 57-32.? After the Crusaders extended their lead to a game-high 27 points at 68-41, the Jaspers scored 17 of the final 23 points to make the final score 74-58.? Kayla Grimme notched her second straight double-double, recording 14 points and 10 rebounds.? Nicole Isaacs added 11 points, while Ashley Stec finished with nine points and four assists.
