HUNTINGTON, N.Y. - In the inaugural "Jasper Shootout", Manhattan posted a team score of 304 to finish second in the four team event. Chris Calabro was the top Jasper, finishing second at the one-day event at Huntington Country Club.
Calabro posted a 74 to earn a second place tie while Michael Giannico took fifth, finishing a stroke behind with a five-over 75. Paul Toohey also contributed a strong outing, shooting a 77 in the round.
Manhattan's Ross Ketner (78) and James Edgeworth (84) also competed in the event. As a team, the Jaspers took second to Hofstra's team score of 299. The other two participants, Wagner and Rider finished third and fourth respectively.
Mike Schutsky and Jonathan Feuer competed as individuals in the event. Schutsky shot an 80 while Feuer posted an 81 to finish in a tie for 16th.
The Jaspers will again be in action this weekend when they travel to Bedminster, N.J. to take part in the St. Barnabas Health Intercollegiate. The two-day tournament will take place at the Fiddler's Elbow Country Club.
