Scouting Report

Manhattan (3-3)

Manhattan head coach Steve Masiello has produced three wins after implementing a new up-tempo style in his first year at the helm. The Jaspers have gone at least 10 players deep in each of their six games this season.

Two of Manhattan's three wins this season have come on the road. In four games outside of Riverdale, the Jaspers are averaging 70.2 points per game and are shooting 40% from the field.

Junior guard George Beamon is averaging a team-high 14.8 points per game and has been the Jaspers top free-throw shooter going 21-for-22 (95.5%) at the charity stripe. Beamon, a Preseason All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Second Team selection, has scored in double-figures in each of his five appearances this season and 20 straight games dating back to last year.

Senior Roberto Colonette has emerged as the Jaspers top post player through six games. The 6'7" 210-pound forward is averaging 9.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest. Colonette has posted double-figures in scoring the last three contests and in four of six games this year.

Jaspers' sophomore Michael Alvarado has worked his way into the starting line for Manhattan's last two contests. Alvarado is averaging 13.5 points, 3.5 assists, and he is 50% from the field as a starter. The 2011 All-MAAC Rookie Team honoree erupted for a season-high 22 points at Colorado State on Nov. 22.

Freshmen Emmy Andujar and Donovan Kates have been mainstays in the Jaspers' starting line up through six games this year. Andujar is averaging 7.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and he is shooting 44.1% from the field. Kates has posted 5.7 points and 2.7 rebounds per contest.

Senior co-captain Kidani Brutus is the Jaspers top shooting threat from downtown. The co-captain from the Bronx has knocked down a team-high 11 3-pointers and he is averaging 6.8 points per game.

Penn (3-4)

After jumping out to a strong start winning three of its first four contests, Penn enters the game on a three game losing streak. The Quakers most recently were edged by James Madison 60-58 on Saturday. Senior Zack Rosen, the Quakers' top scorer, led Penn with 15 points and he dished out 10 assists.

Rosen, a 6'1" guard from St. Benedict's Prep, is off to a monstrous start as he is averaging 21.6 points and 5.7 assists per game. Rosen is shooting 57.5% (50-87) from the field, 60.0% (27-45) from 3-point range and 88.9% (24-27) at the free-throw line.

Tyler Bernardini and Miles Cartwright round out the Quakers superb backcourt. Bernardini, a 6'6" 210-pound senior from California is averaging 12.6 points and a team-high 6.0 rebounds per game. Cartwright is a sophomore guard who has posted 10.7 points and has shot 40.3% from the field in seven starts.

Penn is 1-4 at home this season with its lone win coming against Robert Morris (66-60) on Nov. 19.
